Thermal Efficient Composite Cladding
At McVeigh Insulations our focus on cladding has been
on composites. Once viewed as being expensive and difficult to
handle, the new thermal efficient composite panel
provides a more much economic and efficient solution through greater
insulation requirements.
We purchase composites from all the leading manufactures in the UK
and across Europe. Panels are installed using the latest mechanical
handling technology ensuring manual lifting is kept to a minimum.
We have a fully equipped fabrication workshop and storage warehouse which is
used to make and store flashings and ancillary materials. The use of this
facility provides us with the flexibility to respond quickly to our customer
needs.
In the year 2000 McVeigh Insulations were awarded the contract to supply and
install the composite cladding panels
forming the external envelope at Tesco Pengam Green, Cardiff. All the cladding
interface details were developed to ensure air leakage is kept below the
stringent Tesco specification of 3m3/hr/m2. Internal fire walls to the store
were also installed using rockwool core composite panels.
The external cladding panels, horizontally laid, were fixed directly back to
the steel columns without the need for secondary cladding rails. The 125mm
thick panels typically span 6000mm, provide a 1hr fire rating to a boundary
condition and comply with current thermal requirements of the building
regulations.
Following the successful completion of the Cardiff store McVeigh Insulations
have been selected as a Tesco Partnering Contractor and subsequently completed
over 150 new stores and extensions nationwide.
