Project Overview
Working alongside Willmott Dixon, McVeigh SIPs were appointed to develop a SIPs structural solution to provide much needed additional classroom space for Leicestershire County Council. The concept was to design various sizes of classroom blocks and roll out an extensive development programme for over 20 schools throughout Leicestershire.
The requirements for high levels of insulation and speed of build meant that SIPs were an obvious choice. The in house design developed by Leon Gosling and Luis Reyes progressed to working drawings for the workshop. The whole building envelope including the external walls, internal walls, roof support beams and roof cassettes were installed in just 9 days.
